$17M GPS training contract awarded

Sonalysts, a Waterford, Conn., company that provides a variety of training, simulation and gaming technology services, has won a $17.1 million contract to build a training system for the Global Positioning System Next Generation.

The company will develop a training system to operate within the standard space trainer of the GPS Next Generation Operation Control System mission specific vendor plug-in.

The new award is a modification to an existing contract and brings the total value to $39.5 million.

Work will be performed in Waterford, Conn., and will be completed by Sept. 6, 2016.

Sonalysts started off providing sonar analysis to the Navy. Today the employee-owned company has 400 employees serving government and commercial customers, which include the Naval Submarine Force, the rock band Aerosmith and combat simulation training.
