DOD's David Wennergren announces retirement

The Defense Department’s assistant deputy chief management officer and a recognized IT innovator, David Wennergren, has announced his retirement beginning Aug. 2.

David Wennergren, assistant deputy chief management officer at the Defense Department, plans to retire on Aug. 2, ending his distinguished 32-year federal career, FCW reported.

“It’s been a great ride, I’ve had jobs that I’d never even dreamed I would’ve had, and have had some amazing adventures,” he said. He plans on taking some time off before planning the next step in his life.

Over the years, Wennergren has won a number of awards and honors for his service and dedication to information technology for the Defense Department and for the Navy.
