Three win $252M Postal Service program management contract
Parsons, URS and AMEC have won a program management contract with the Postal Service to support the service's portfolio of facilities. They'll now battle for $42 million a year in task orders.
Parsons Corp., URS Corp., and AMEC have won a $252 million task order contract to provide program management services to the U.S. Postal Service.
The Program Management Support Contract, or PMSC, has a two-year base and four option years, making the estimated annual future spending to be $42 million a year.
Under PMSC, the companies will provide program management services in support of requirements and programs related to the Postal Service's portfolio of facilities, which includes more than 32,700 facilities nationwide, Parsons said.
The contract is to provide flexibility to staff, reduce the cycle time for facilities-related purchases, improve the efficiency of services, reduce errors and omissions, and improve the facilities' supply chain, according to the USPS's qualification statement.
Program management services will include design, construction management, construction, and the creation of a project and program management system that is meant to expedite communications and streamline the administrative burden for the members of the project team, the qualification statement said.
The contract may also call for accessibility compliance, security upgrades, retail program support, and other projects and programs as needed for improving and maintaining USPS's facilities portfolio.
Parsons has been providing design, construction management and program management support to the USPS since 2003, the company said.
