Exelis wins $48M night vision goggles contract with Army

ITT Exelis has won a $48 million contract option with the U.S. Army for follow-on production of enhanced night vision goggles.

These enhanced night vision goggles will allow soldiers to detect and identify potential threats in differing environmental conditions during night missions, the company said in a release.

This is the second of two options under this contract. The company received the first option in April 2012.

The goggles, known as the Spiral Enhanced Night Vision Goggle, features the company’s sensor-fused night vision technology that combines infrared imagery and image intensification into one compact goggle, the company said.
