Federal IT systems are seen as slow, archaic and overly complex, but with cloud-first initiatives and open data sharing, the government is an innovator when it comes to cloud computing and data security, InformationWeek is reporting.

The government is getting high marks for FedRAMP that provides a framework for certifying the security of cloud environments and reducing the burden on government buyers and speeding adoption.
