Former GTSI execs reunited at new firm

Find opportunities — and win them.

Jeremy Wensinger, former COO of GTSI, is back with his old CEO, Sterling Phillips, who is now the CEO of U.S. Investigations Services.

Two executives who you could argue pulled GTSI back from the brink have reunited at a new company.

Sterling Phillips was brought in as the CEO of GTSI in 2010, in the aftermath of the company’s scandal involving small business contracts. The company’s revenue was plummeting.

In October 2011, Phillips brought Jeremy Wensinger on board as chief operating officer.

The following June, they sold the company to Unicom, which took GTSI off the public market. Phillips became CEO of U.S. Investigations Services in December 2012, which provides a variety of security, training, IT and data services.

Wensinger stayed on as COO at GTSI under Unicom, until last month when he left the company.

This week, he rejoined Phillips as the president of USIS’s global security and solutions business. That unit has $240 million in revenue and 2,000 employees. It provides security, intelligence support, litigation support, training and records management services.

The company has not put out an official announcement on Wensinger’s new position.
