TeleCommunication Systems wins $16.1 for comm systems delivery

TeleCommunication Systems has won $16.1 million in incremental funding to deliver communications systems to the U.S. Marine Corps.

The company will provide the Marine Corps with deployed engineering services for its wireless point-to-point systems and commercialization efforts in theater, the company said in a release.

TCS’s engineering services consists of providing engineers with specific skill sets to assist the Marine Corps’ operations in technical control facilities and data/security centers.

"While it's imperative that the [Marine Corps] has secure, reliable and easily deployable communications equipment, that's only half the battle. They also need the expertise backing that equipment, and that's where TCS' knowledgeable and reliable Deployed Engineering Services personnel come in,” said Michael Bristol, senior vice president and general manager of Government Solutions.

These provisions are being managed through the Army’s $5 billion World-Wide Satellite Systems contract vehicle.
