CTC hires new SVP, CTO

Vicki Barbur will set the vision and strategic direction for Concurrent Technologies Corp. as its new senior vice president and chief technical officer.

Concurrent Technologies Corp. has named Vicki A. Barbur senior vice president and chief technical officer, where she will be responsible for setting the vision and strategic direction for the company’s scientific and technical capabilities.

Specifically, Barbur will help the company to “enhance its technical capabilities, identify new business opportunities and technology thrust areas, and help ensure the sustainability of CTC’s technical reputation and leadership in the competitive landscape,” said Edward J. Sheehan, Jr., CTC President and CEO.

Barbur was previously vice president of research and development for the medical segment at Cardinal Health, McGaw Park, IL.

Before that, she served as technology director at Kodak for research and development efforts, with a focus on specialty products, including nanomaterials.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from Imperial College, University of London, master’s degree in applied statistics from the University of Oxford, an MBA in global executive leadership from Amos Tuck Business School, Dartmouth College, and a Ph.D in physics from Imperial College, University of London.
