The Interior Department has restructured its National Business Center, renaming it the Interior Business Center, according to an article on FCW.com.

The purpose of revamping the center is to improve efficiency as it offers business solutions to Interior and other federal agencies.

“The new, streamlined Interior Business Center focuses on delivering a core set of complementary business services in the areas of human resources, acquisition, financial management and indirect cost services,” FCW.com quotes Rhea Suh, the Interior Department’s assistant secretary for policy, management and budget, as saying in a statement.

The department is taking a phased, cost-sensitive approach to the transition. Officials of the center have until Dec. 31, 2012 to send Suh their plans for assuming responsibility for awarding information technology contracts that all bureaus and offices can use, FCW.com said.
