Boeing appoints new leader of Boeing India

Boeing has appointed Pratyush “Prat” Kumar president of Boeing India, effective Dec. 14. He succeeds Dinesh Keskar, who returned to Boeing Commercial Airplanes in a senior sales leadership role earlier this year.

Kumar has business leadership experience and insight into the Indian market, having served in a number of senior executive positions at General Electric Transportation since 2003, Boeing said.

Kumar will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the Boeing India strategy, as well as coordinating business activities; aligning priorities; expanding Bowing presence; and developing, maintaining and enhancing local relationships and in-country partnerships with India’s business and government stakeholders.

He was previously the Delhi-based president and CEO of General Electric Transportation for South Asia, and has led the General Electric Infrastructure business in India, which Boeing said included aviation, transportation, energy, oil & gas and water business lines.

Boeing said that it is focused on creating sustainable value in the Indian aerospace sector. It has developed relationships with suppliers in India and is actively pursuing technical and business partnerships with Indian companies and institutions, the company said.
