Who won top billing as the best contractors of 2012?

The annual Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards celebrated its 10th anniversary Thursday night, with a gala dinner and awards that went to four businesses and three executives picked as the best in their field.

Awards were given to contractors in four revenue categories, and to executives in three revenue categories. Also honored were two public sector partners of the year.The program, produced by the Fairfax, Va., Chamber of Commerce, the Professional Services Council and Washington Technology, recognizes outstanding achievement by companies and executives during the past year.

The winners of the 2012 awards are:

Contractor of the year (less than $25 million)
Octo Consulting Group Inc.

Contractor of the year ($25 million to $75 million)
Blue Canopy Group LLC

Contractor of the year ($75 million to $300 million)
Calibre Systems Inc.

Contractor of the year (greater than $300 million)
Sotera Defense Solutions Inc.

Executive of the year (less than $75 million)
Greg Baroni, Attain LLC

Executive of the year ($75 million to $300 million)
Tony Jimenez, MicroTech

Executive of the year (greater than $300 million)
Richard Montoni, Maximus

Public sector partners of the year
Elliott Branch, Navy deputy assistant secretary, acquisition and procurement
Alexander Mavroukakis, contracting officer, Education Department and General Services Administration

Jack London, chairman of CACI International, also was recognized as the Hall of Fame honoree for his achievements at CACI, and for his contributions to the government community.

He joins other legends of the market, such as Norm Augustine, former chairman and CEO of Lockheed Martin, Robert Beyster, founder of Science Applications International Corp., and Phil Odeen, who led companies such as BDM International and TRW Inc.
