Eight small businesses win $98.7M command and control contract

Eight small businesses have each won a $19.7 million task order contract with the U.S. Missile Defense Agency. The contract’s total value could rise to $98.7 million, if options are exercised.

Contractors on the bill are as follow:

• American Electronics Inc.
• 7 Delta Inc.
• MANDEX Inc.
• Centuria Corp.
• The Cameron Bell Corp. d/b/a Gov Solutions Group
• Mystikal Solutions LLC
• Palmetto Technologies LLC
• SPARC LLC

The companies will compete against each other under the cost-plus-fixed-fee, performance-based contract.  The companies will provide command, control, communications, computers, combat systems, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance electronics, communications services and solutions. The procurement vehicle has provisions for fixed-price-incentive and firm-fixed-price orders.

According to a Defense Department announcement, these electronics, communications services and solutions will support mission capabilities within the business and force support portfolio, improve customers’ ability to execute mission-essential business operations and other business and force support functions.The contract will be used to develop, deliver and support systems and applications to support the warfighter.

All work is expected to be completed by September 2013, but if options are exercised, work will be extended into September 2017.

Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year.

Twenty-two offers were received via the Commerce Business Daily’s Federal Business Opportunities website.
