CSC wins $54M contract to improve background checks

Computer Sciences Corp. takes on the role of investigator and efficiency expert as the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement looks to improve background investigations of federal employees and contractors.

 

Computer Sciences Corp. is going to put on its private investigator hat under a $54 million contract to conduct background investigations for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Office of Professional Responsibility.

“Our work in support of this task order enables Immigration and Customs Enforcement to operate with increased efficiency and greater visibility as we securely conduct background investigations,” said Patrick Schambach, vice president and general manager of the company’s Homeland Security and Law Enforcement division.

The order has a one-year base and four option years.

It was awarded under the General Services Administration Schedule 738X contract, which supports human resources, equal employment opportunity requirements and social services. CSC won the Schedule 738X contract in 2002, it said.

Under the order, the company will conduct background investigations, deliver investigation reports on federal and contractor employees applying for jobs and prepare reinvestigation reports to allow the government to establish suitability for employment.

CSC said that will use its web-based case management application to help manage workflow and assignments, house all related documents, and provide the office with real-time access to case statuses.
