SeaPort-e adds 385 contractors

SeaPort-e got a little bigger last week when the Navy added 385 contractors to the already 2,501 on the huge multiple award contract.

The new awards were made across 22 functional areas including research and development support, systems engineering, modeling and simulation, analysis, software engineering, quality assurance, IT support, acquisition logistics support, training, and public affairs and multimedia support.

In its announcement, the Navy said that $5.3 billion worth of services are acquired through SeaPort-e each year. The new companies were added through the contract’s rolling admissions process.

SeaPort-e contains seven regional zones and task orders will be competed by zone based on the principal place of performance for the contract. The contract has a two-year base period with one five-year award term.

There are provisions in the contract for set aside requirements for small businesses, service-disabled, veteran-owned small businesses, 8a businesses and historically under-utilized business zone small businesses.

The Navy received 415 bids for this round SeaPort-e contracts; they made 385 awards.
