NetCents small biz protests grow

A third firm has joined the ranks of those crying foul over the Air Force's NetCents 2 small business awards.
A third firm has joined the list of companies protesting the Air Force’s NetCents 2 Application Services Small Business contract.
Ace Info Solutions Inc. of Reston, Va., was the first to file a protest on July 2. A decision from the Government Accountability Office is due by Oct. 10. On July 9, Insignia Spectrum LLC of Newport News, Va., and Software Engineering Services Corp. of Bellevue, Neb., filed with GAO. Decisions for those companies are due Oct. 17.
The companies declined to comment on the grounds of their protests.
The NetCents 2 program has been beset by protest troubles and other delays. The Air Force pulled back its $6.9 billion products contract for re-evaluation after 11 protests were filed with GAO. The Air Force also has had to file for extension to the original NetCents contract so it doesn’t expire before the new contract is in place.
Overall, NetCents 2 has a value of $24 billion for products and services., compared to $10 billion for NetCents 1.
