Northrop opens Maryland offices for Social Security, CMS

Moving close to your customers is always a sound business decision, which is why Northrop Grumman Corp. has opened a new facility in the Baltimore area to support its Social Security Administration and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services clients.

The new offices will allow the giant contractor to expand support and IT services to both SSA and CMS, a May 2 Northrop announcement said.

The facility, located in Windsor Mill, Md., will house employees from across Northrop Grumman's Health IT Division.

“We have approximately 600 people in the area supporting these customers and we expect this support to expand, along with our other health IT programs, in the coming contract years," said Amy Caro, vice president for Health IT, Northrop Grumman Information Systems, in the announcement.

Northrop Grumman was named to the Social Security's $2.8 billion indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity Information Technology Support Services (ITSS) contract in 2010 to provide IT solutions to the SSA.
