SAP structures specialized unit for national security clients
Realignment brings integration of Sybase Federal and creates SAP National Security Services to support defense and intelligence customers.
SAP Government Support and Services and its Sybase Federal unit have completed an operational realignment and are now doing business as SAP National Security Services, or SAP NS2, the company said in an April 2 announcement.
Drawing on the strengths of SAP AG, of Walldorf, Germany, and Sybase Inc., of Dublin, Calif., which SAP acquired in 2010, SAP NS2 is an independent U.S. subsidiary, structured and organized to meet the needs of its national security and other government customers. SAP NS2 has an independent board of directors to meet national security requirements because it is a foreign-owned company.
SAP NS2 offers a broad set of IT solutions and services including enterprise applications, analytics and cloud solutions from SAP; database, information management and mobility solutions from Sybase; and consulting and support services from credentialed experts in the national security space.
In addition to national security and intelligence agencies, SAP NS2 also supports private companies such as defense contractors, telecom carriers, and major financial institutions that have specialized information assurance needs.
