Jacobs lands $50M IT contract from Air Force Academy
Assistance will aid in research of better IT applications for the military.
Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. will provide information technology and other services to the Air Force Academy under a five-year blanket purchase agreement that has an estimated maximum value of $50 million, the company announced today.
The contract calls for Jacobs also to provide geospatial engineering and software engineering services to the Institute for Information Technology Applications program at the Colorado Springs, Colo., academy.
The institute conducts IT application research for the Defense Department, the Air Force and the Air Force Academy. It works with military and civilian research communities to deliver high-impact IT applications, according to the academy’s website.
In making the April 10 announcement, Group Vice President Robert Norfleet said the contract continues Jacobs’ support in providing advanced technology that builds on the growing demand for geospatial capabilities at the academy.
Jacobs Engineering Group, of Pasadena, Calif., ranks No. 20 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
