General Dynamics provides cyber, communications support to Army
GDIT will assist the Army's 160th Signal Brigade upgrade enterprise communications for the U.S. Central Command.
General Dynamics Corp. will provide cyber security and other services to the Army under a five-year contract that has a potential value of $64.5 million if all options are exercised, according to the April 12 company announcement.
The Army's Network Enterprise Technology Command awarded the contract to General Dynamics Information Technology to support the 160th Signal Brigade, which provides the U.S. Central Command with the enterprise communications capabilities needed for missions throughout Southwest Asia and the United States, the announcement said.
General Dynamics will carry out administrative, information assurance, cyber security and operations functions for the 160th Signal Brigade, as well as provide power and facilities engineering, logistics services and IT networking and transmission expertise.
Included in the work – which will be performed in Kuwait, Qatar and Afghanistan – will be providing theater-level communications for the U.S. Central Command.
