General Dynamics adds new mainframe capabilities for Army agency
The $20.2 million contract calls for General Dynamics IT to provide unclassified and classified mainframe computerized processing for the Army IT Agency.
General Dynamics Corp. has won a Defense Information Systems Agency contract that could be worth as much as $20.2 million to support the Army Information Technology Agency.
The contract calls for General Dynamics Information Technology to assist the IT agency’s Services Directorate Enterprise Data Center Enterprise Backup, Mainframe and Server Services Program, according to an April 20 announcement.
Under this contract, General Dynamics IT will provide unclassified and classified mainframe computerized processing for the agency users worldwide, as well as the management of server and application hosting and storage services.
The contractor also will define metrics to measure performance and develop a design solution to migrate the directorate to a service-oriented architecture framework.
General Dynamics Corp., of Falls Church, Va., ranks No. 5 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
