Air Force explores award-fee kickers for small biz
In an effort to bring about change in the small-business contracting world, the Air Force looks into financially rewarding good work.
The Air Force's new plan announced in early February to increase small business contracting was a highlight during AFCEA Northern Virginia Air Force IT day held in Vienna on Feb. 23.
One of the main objectives could be to financially reward vendors for how they meet their contracting goals, reports Federal News Radio.
The Air Force in currently exploring adding "award fee kickers" to other incentives for companies that exceed small business goals and while the amount has not been determined, the effort is a way to create meaningful change, said Joseph McDade, director of the Air Force's Office of Small Business Programs, at the event, according to the radio report.
