R&D company hires VP of business development
Gary Sauer will direct all development efforts, including product and customer accounts and market research.
SRC Inc. has named Gary Sauer the vice president of business development. In this role, he will direct all BD-related efforts, including the product and customer accounts, market research, and technical publications teams.
Sauer, who will work at SRC’s Chantilly, Va., offices, will identify, qualify, develop and cultivate new business opportunities for SRC and its affiliate SRCTec., a Jan. 23 company announcement said.
Prior to joining SRC, Sauer served as general manager for Applied Research Associates’ defense systems group, where he was responsible for setting financial goals, marketing and business development activities.
A 22-year Army veteran, he also worked as a program manager with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and as director of programs and business development at BAE Systems.
Sauer holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, a master’s degree of military arts and science in Strategic Planning from the School of Advanced Military Studies, a master’s of science in Business Administration from Central Michigan University and executive fellowships from Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
