Booz Allen network aims to thwart cyber bandits

New Cyber Solutions Network was created to help outpace cyber criminals.

In order to stay one step ahead of cyber threats, Booz Allen Hamilton has created a host of cyber resources designed to help prevent, identify, and effectively respond to rogue cyber agents.

Developed for the contractor's government and commercial clients, the new Cyber Solutions Network includes nine cyber centers, labs and stations that are each supplied with site-specific services, technologies and experts, according to a Jan. 17 company news release.

“In today’s world of sophisticated and complex cyber threats, it takes a network to protect a network,” said Booz Allen Hamilton Executive Vice President and Chief Information Security Officer Joe Mahaffee, in the announcement.

The network provides advanced cyber analytics, computer network defense, cyber product testing and evaluation, and advanced cyber training delivered through an online constellation of linked centers, labs, and stations.

The centers will be located in three states, with four centers in Maryland, another four in northern Virginia and one in New Jersey.

Booz Allen Hamilton, of McLean, Va., ranks No. 9 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
