Jacobs adds IT services support for Marines’ next-gen network

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. will provide engineering and acquisition support to the Marine Corps under a blanket purchase agreement that runs through June 2014 and has a potential value of $42.4 million.

The Commercial Enterprise Omnibus support services BPA calls for Jacobs to assist the Program Manager, Marine Corps Network and Infrastructure Services, which is responsible for managing the acquisition of information technology services for the corps, according to a Dec. 6 company announcement.

Under the terms of the contract, Jacobs is supporting continuity of services contract management and acquisition activities for the USMC Next Generation IT Environment – via the Navy Next Generation Enterprise Network (NGEN) and the Secure Operational Network Infrastructure Capability.

Jacobs also is providing strategic planning, requirements analysis, concept development and transition and enterprise process support.

Key components of Jacobs’ enterprise IT acquisition support approach include participation in Marine Corps and joint technical forums, and the incorporation of IT Infrastructure Library processes and IT Service Management principles for projects and programs of the Program Manager, Marine Corps Network and Infrastructure Services, the announcement said.

Jacobs Engineering Group, of Pasadena, Calif., ranks No. 20 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
