Bond leaves TechAmerica to lead consulting firm

Phil Bond will step down as president and CEO of TechAmerica on Nov. 1 to join Petrizzo Strategic Group Inc. as a partner in the newly named firm.

Phillip Bond will step down as president and CEO of TechAmerica on Nov. 1 to join Petrizzo Strategic Group Inc. as a partner, founder and CEO T.J. Petrizzo announced Oct. 3.

Bond will be president and CEO of the renamed lobbying firm, Petrizzo Bond Inc., and Petrizzo will continue to serve as chairman.

In 2008 as president and CEO of the Information Technology Association of America, a position he held since 2006, Bond partnered with Christopher Hansen — then president and CEO of the AeA, to form TechAmerica, according to the TechAmerica website.

Bond also helped to drive the merger with the Government Electronics and Information Technology Association, which took effect April 1, 2008.

From 2001 to 2005, Bond was undersecretary of technology at the Commerce Department, and from 2002 to 2003, he served concurrently as chief of staff to Commerce Secretary Donald Evans.
