Harris' 4 contracts call for Air Force base IT upgrades

Harris Corp. has won a quartet of Air Force contracts worth a combined more than $12 million to upgrade the service's IT infrastructure at four bases.

Harris Corp. has won a quartet of Air Force contracts worth more than $12 million combined to upgrade the service’s IT infrastructure.

Under the contracts, Harris will install core IT infrastructure upgrades through extensive cabling and networking components at four U.S. Air Force bases: Malmstrom AFB, Montana; Creech AFB, Nevada; Randolph AFB, Texas; and Vance AFB, Oklahoma.

The work team includes subcontractor Trans-Tel Central Inc.

The contracts come from the Air Force's Electronic Systems Center through the Cyber Integration Division, Information Transport Systems Program Management Office under the Network-Centric Solutions contract vehicle.

Harris Corp., of Melbourne, Fla., ranks No. 13 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
