CSC promotes 24-year company exec to VP of capture

Bill Szymanski has been promoted to vice president of capture at Computer Sciences Corp.'s North American Public Sector Civil Group.

Bill Szymanski has been promoted to vice president of capture for Computer Sciences Corp.’s North American Public Sector Civil Group, the company announced on Sept. 29.

Szymanski, who will report to NPS Civil Group President Mike Gaffney, will lead the Civil Group’s strategic capture organization, which is focused on sustaining high new business and recompete win rates to fuel the Civil Group’s growth, the announcement states.

He has served in various operations, account and capture director roles during his more than 24 years at CSC and his contributions have helped drive the growth of the Civil Group.

Szymanski has collaborated with numerous federal agencies, including the Education and Interior departments and the Federal Aviation Administration.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in agronomy and environmental science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

CSC, of Falls Church, Va., ranks No. 11 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
