CGI wins $207M EPA award to upgrade central data exchange

CGI Federal Inc. will provide technical support to the Environmental Protection Agency under a six-year task order worth $207 million, the company said in an announcement Sept. 13.

The task order calls for CGI to support the EPA’s Central Data Exchange, one of the agency’s core technology assets.

The CDX enables streamlined, electronic collection; sharing and reporting of environmental data among EPA’s program offices and its external stakeholders, including states, tribal nations; and regulated industries, the announcement states.

CGI will continue to support CDX through a wide range of technology services, including information assurance/cybersecurity, Web application and systems development, program management, user support, and operations and maintenance services.

The EPA Office of Environmental Information awarded the contract to the U.S. operating subsidiary of CGI Group Inc. under the GSA Alliant governmentwide acquisition contract vehicle.

CGI Group Inc., of Montreal, ranks No. 44 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
