Teledyne develops new missile testing technologies for DOD
A Teledyne Technologies subsidiary will provide new testing technology for the Missile Defense Agency’s Objective Simulation Framework under a five-year contract with a potential value of $595 million.
Teledyne Technologies Inc. will provide new testing technology for the Defense Department under a five-year contract with a potential value of $595 million.
The indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract calls for Teledyne’s subsidiary, Teledyne Brown Engineering Inc., of Huntsville, Ala., to design, develop, test, implement and maintain the Missile Defense Agency’s Objective Simulation Framework (OSF), according to an Aug. 31 company announcement.
The OSF will be the centerpiece test and simulation framework for all elements of the missile defense system. The OSF will be capable of supporting full-scale simulations, ground tests and live fire events. For the first time, it will tie together the Digital Simulation Architecture with the Single Stimulation Framework, the announcement said.
Teledyne Brown developed the first digital and hardware-in-the-loop test and assessment capabilities for missile defense. Through the years, the company has developed advancements in test frameworks that established ground test standards for missile defense systems.
Teledyne Technologies Inc., of Thousand Oaks, Calif., ranks No. 100 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
