Dovèl Technologies has acquired ZapThink LLC, which has become a wholly owned subsidiary of Dovèl. Financial terms of the transaction were not reported.
The acquisition is part of Dovèl's strategy to expand its scope, capabilities and thought leadership in service-oriented architecture (SOA), cloud computing and related technologies, Dovèl explained in its August 15 announcement.
ZapThink has provided more than 20,000 senior IT executives, enterprise architects and other IT practitioners with thought content, training and expertise into the critical trends shaping the future of enterprise IT, Dovèl said.
In particular, the company has built a brand around its SOA and cloud computing expertise. Its flagship offering is the Licensed ZapThink Architect (LZA) course, which provides training and certification on SOA and cloud computing around the world. ZapThink has certified over 1,400 individuals to date, and will continue to offer an expanded LZA curriculum.
As a subsidiary of Dovèl, ZapThink will continue to offer its Licensed ZapThink Architect course to federal and commercial customers as well as produce ZapFlash newsletters and cutting-edge advisory, content and guidance.
Jason Bloomberg will remain president of the ZapThink subsidiary. Ronald Schmelzer will help manage the transition of existing customers and content.
Dovèl Technologies’ clients include the Food and Drug Administration, Federal Aviation Administration, U.S Census Bureau and the Defense and Education departments.
