TASC pipes aboard retired admiral to steer new programs unit

Retired Navy Vice Adm. Thomas Kilcline Jr. has joined TASC Inc. as vice president of its newly formed Naval Programs unit.

He will lead TASC’s new operating unit in charge of operations in San Diego; Virginia Beach, Va.; Washington, D.C.; and Charleston, S.C., the company announced June 27.

Since his retirement in 2010 after a 30-year career as a naval officer and aviator, Kilcline has worked as a consultant in the aerospace industry.

From 2004 through 2006, Kilcline served as commander of Naval Air Forces, leading the Navy’s aviation force of 100,000 personnel, 11 nuclear aircraft carriers and 2,800 Navy aircraft. He also served in the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations as director of Naval Warfare Integration and Assessment and director of Air Warfare.

Kilcline earned a bachelor's degree in operations research from the U.S. Naval Academy and a master’s in systems management from the University of Southern California. He also earned master’s degrees in foreign affairs at the Naval War College and in national security strategy at the National War College.
