Oracle, HP fight intensifies
Companies trade accusations over the future of Itanium servers.
Oracle and Hewlett-Packard are accusing each other of breach of contract and deception over the Intel Itanium server processor, according to reports by CRN.
The fight started with Oracle’s decision to halt development of Itanium-based software products. HP filed suit, claiming breach of contract.
Now Oracle claims that Intel is planning to discontinue Itanium and that HP is part of some sort of deception, CRN’s Kevin McLaughlin reports.
HP claims that Oracle dropped its support of Itanium to boost its line of Sun servers.
