ICF sparks Energy Department's grid modernization efforts

ICF International Inc. will provide IT assistance to the Energy Department under a five-year task order that could be worth more than $40 million.

Under the new task order, ICF will provide IT, technical and management support to the department’s Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability, according to an announcement from the contractor dated June 29.

ICF also will assist in planning and implementation of the office’s ongoing mission-related efforts in the Permitting, Siting and Analysis; Infrastructure Security and Energy Restoration; and Corporate Business Office divisions.

The contractor is supporting the Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability’s national efforts to modernize the electric grid, enhance security and reliability of the energy infrastructure, and facilitate recovery from disruptions to energy supply, the announcement states.

ICF has supported the Energy and Homeland Security departments for the past nine years in their efforts to enhance the resiliency of the nation’s energy infrastructure.

ICF International Inc., of Fairfax, Va., ranks No. 64 on Washington Technology’s 2011 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
