Dell gains $252M award to run nuke agency's IT infrastructure

Dell Inc. will provide a full range of information technology outsourcing services to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission under a 6-year, $252 million contract.

Dell subsidiary Perot Systems Government Services, a unit of Dell Services, will operate, maintain and enhance a comprehensive, agencywide IT infrastructure for the NRC’s Office of Information Systems.

In addition to supplying hardware, enterprise and software products, the contract calls for aiding the commission in planning, directing and overseeing the delivery of centralized and efficient IT infrastructure and information management services.

The core areas of support include: program management, Blackberry support services, email and messaging, personal computing, software license and network management, remote access, integration and high-performance computing.

Additional services include: computer facilities management, data center systems administration, management of the Nuclear Security Incident Response Operations Center and the Emergency Response Data System, wireless communications, information assurance and security.
