Northrop hires staff as it readies new HQ

Find opportunities — and win them.

Northrop Grumman is gutting its new headquarters in Falls Church, Va., to be ready for a late-summer move-in. Only about half of its California-based staff will make the move.

The carpet's being laid, the walls are being painted, gym and conference space is being installed, and the 14-story building in Northern Virginia that will serve as Northrop Grumman's new corporate headquarters has that smell of newness about it.

Although the furniture might be on its way, a Washington Post report said only about half of Northrop Grumman's Los Angeles-based staff will relocate, prompting the company to hire many new employees for the Falls Church office before the doors open in late summer.

That translates into about 150 new hires, many of them key executive positions, a company spokesman told the Post.
