NCI award continues DOD medical IT support for Gulf area
NCI Inc. will continue providing IT support to the 81st Medical Group's Air Education and Training Command at Keesler Air Force Base, Miss., under a five-year follow-on task order worth $11.1 million.
NCI Inc. will continue providing IT support to the Defense Department under a five-year follow-on task order worth $11.1 million.
Under the award, NCI will help the 81st Medical Group's Air Education and Training Command at Keesler Air Force Base, Miss., with information management/IT services.
As part of the DOD Resource Sharing program, the support extends beyond the Biloxi-Gulfport area to include the joint venture between the 81st Medical Group and Biloxi, the DOD Tricare multi-market, and various Veteran Affairs Department agreements, according to an April 20 NCI announcement.
The contractor will help with architecture development; that is hardware, software, network, video, wireless communications and other data connections as well as network security.
The 81st Medical Group operates a large data, voice and video communications and
networking architecture that consists of standard DOD Health Affairs and Air Force Automated Information Systems, commercial systems and locally developed and procured systems.
