ICF wins EPA Energy Star recompete contract

ICF International Inc. has won a five-year recompete contract from the Environmental Protection Agency worth $36.5 million.

Under the terms of the award, ICF will provide the EPA’s Office of Air and Radiation with technical and analytical support for the Energy Star Program’s Labeling and Residential Branch, according to a company announcement released today.

The ICF team will be tasked with a number of crucial responsibilities, including providing EPA with specification development, research and analysis, and sales and marketing strategies.

Other tasks include media marketing, software and electronic information development, program integrity support, program evaluation, administration, and management support for the Energy Star program.

The Energy Star program is designed to protect the environment, primarily through reductions in energy use, by identifying and labeling products and residential buildings in the marketplace that are significantly more energy efficient than others, ICF said in its announcement.

The long-term goal of the program is to help effect market transformation that will sustain the purchase and use of increasing levels of energy-efficient products indefinitely.

ICF International, of Fairfax, Va., ranks No. 66 on Washington Technology’s 2010 Top 100 list of the largest federal government contractors.
