Cisco exec Paul Brubaker joins new company

The former Cisco executive who led its Internet Business Solutions Group accepts a top post at D.C.-based IT consulting firm Synteractive.

Former Cisco executive and government veteran Paul Brubaker has accepted a position as chief operating officer at the D.C.-based IT consulting firm Synteractive, where he will supervise the company’s business growth and execution strategies, according to a company press release.

Brubaker, who was one of the primary contributors in drawing up the Clinger-Cohen Act, will help Synteractive build upon the accomplishments of its cloud platforms such as Recovery.gov and Treasury.gov.

In addition, he will oversee the development of applications and platforms that drive efficiencies through crowd-sourcing, collaboration, and enterprise migration to the cloud, the release said.

At Cisco, Brubaker led the public sector’s Internet Business Solutions Group and prior to that held high-level posts in industry and government including subcommittee staff director in the U.S. Senate, deputy Defense Department CIO for the Government Accountability Office and CEO of two successful small businesses.
