SAIC task order will benefit NIH scientific review program

Science Applications International Corp. will provide software and technical support to the National Institutes of Health under a five-year task order that could be worth as much as $24 million if all options are exercised.

The follow-on award will assist NIH’s Center for Scientific Review, the portal for NIH grant applications and their review for scientific merit, according to an SAIC announcement today.

SAIC will support the CSR by providing among other things software and Web development, network administration, and desktop and help desk assistance.

The CSR organizes the peer review groups or study sections that evaluate the majority of the research grant applications sent to NIH. It also receives all grant applications for NIH, as well as for some other components of the Health and Human Services Department.

The task order was awarded under NIH’s Chief Information Officer-Solutions and Partners (CIO-SP2) contract, the announcement said.

The work will be performed in Bethesda, Md.
