DRC helps Walter Reed transition to new BRAC facilities

Dynamics Research Corp. is providing medical program support to Walter Reed Army Medical Center under a new task order that has a total estimated value of $18 million.

Under the terms of the contract, DRC is providing IT services and other program support such as medical transcription, clinical research support, health care planning, and Base Realignment and Closure integration and transition support.

The 2005 BRAC recommendations call for relocating the facilities of the Walter Reed Army Medical Center to the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md., and the Fort Belvoir, Va., Community Hospital.

The contract, which began Sept. 1, has a period of performance of 16 months if all options are exercised.

In July, DRC, of Andover, Mass., sold its Metrigraphics Division to private equity firms Clarkston Merchant Partners LLC and New England Capital Partners, a transaction that allowed the company to focus solely on its government business.
