CSC will maintain immigration e-records for CIS

Computer Sciences Corp. will help the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services manage its electronic records under a one-year task order worth $25 million.

The award calls for CSC to conduct scanning, indexing and file management operations at a CIS records digitization facility.

Under the terms of the agreement, CSC will provide file maintenance activities and digitization of various types of records, including applicant (A-File), account and temporary files, according to a company announcement issued today.

The digitization of these records, which are stored in the USCIS Enterprise Document Management System, allows USCIS and its customers to electronically access specific digitized A-Files for processing immigrant applications or investigations, the announcement said.

The digitized records include immigrant requests for naturalization, permanent status, and various other benefits or immigrant petitions.

The task order stems from the USCIS Integrated Digitization Document Management Program blanket purchase agreement, which was originally awarded in 2006 to Datatrac Information Systems Inc. for a term of five years with an estimated contract value of $150 million.

CSC acquired Datatrac in December 2006.

USCIS, an agency of the Homeland Security Department, establishes immigration services, policies and priorities.

CSC, of Falls Church, Va., ranks No. 10 on Washington Technology’s 2010 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
