SRA International has won a $500 million contract to help the Agriculture Department modernize the systems that serve farmers across the country.
SRA International has won a $500 million contract to help the Agriculture Department modernize the technology and business processes it uses to serve farmers across the country.
The Application Transformation and Modernization Systems Integrator blanket purchase agreement was awarded through the General Services Administration schedule and will tap into Recovery Act funds, GSA and USDA officials said.
“USDA is committed to improving service delivery and addressing outdated technology issues to meet the needs of our customers,” said Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack. “We also must provide our dedicated state and county office employees with the tools, information and training to administer [Farm Service Agency] programs.”
FSA will use the contract to modernize how it delivers farm benefit programs and services as part of its Modernize and Innovate the Delivery of Agricultural Systems program.
Goals include streamlining business processes, rapidly implementing new farm programs, modernizing technology platforms, and improving access and convenience for producers, ranchers and farmers.
SRA, of Fairfax, Va., is ranked No. 26 on the 2009 Washington Technology Top 100 list of the largest government contractors.
