SAIC helps Army manage Military Health System office

Under a new task order that could be worth more than $22 million, Science Applications International Corp. will provide planning and management services to the Defense Department.

Specifically, the task order from the U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity calls for SAIC to support the Tri-Service Infrastructure Management Program Office (TIMPO) with capacity planning and management services, according to an announcement SAIC made today.

The company will provide comprehensive support of current and future infrastructure, including application server sizing, network bandwidth analysis and performance management. The information will be used in planning, fiscal calculations, optimization efforts, and analysis of networks, servers and applications.

TIMPO delivers and manages the communications and computing infrastructure necessary to support information technology systems deployed throughout the Military Health System. It also provides the products and services required to design, test, install, upgrade and sustain MHS' infrastructure worldwide.

The task order has a one-year base period and four one-year options. It was awarded under the Defense Medical Information System/Systems Integration, Design, Development, Operations and Maintenance Services 3 contract.

Work will be performed primarily in Falls Church, Va., and San Diego.
