QinetiQ names Yamada strategy leader of Mission Solutions Group

Austin Yamada has been appointed senior vice president for strategy and business development of QinetiQ North America’s Mission Solutions Group.

Austin Yamada has been appointed senior vice president for strategy and business development of QinetiQ North America’s Mission Solutions Group, the company announced today.

Having previously served as senior vice president for business acquisition for the intelligence, security and space sector of the Mission Solutions Group, Yamada will now be responsible for planning the development of new business across defense, intelligence and federal civilian agencies.

Yamada will direct strategic planning, competitive assessment, capture and proposal development aimed at achieving long-term growth of the Mission Solution Group’s revenue and profits through long-range identification, positioning and capture of strategic opportunities, the statement said.

Yamada previously served as vice president for national security strategy at ManTech International Corp., where he was responsible for business development strategy for the Defense Department, intelligence community and homeland security markets.

Before joining ManTech, Yamada was a business development director at Lockheed Martin Corp.

Yamada’s 25-year government career included the Defense Mapping Agency (now the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency) and the Office of the Secretary of Defense, where he served as deputy assistant secretary of defense for special operations and combating terrorism.
