Navy award could be worth $200M to CACI

CACI International Inc. will help the Navy manage a number of the service's information technology systems under a $41.4 million level-of-effort, cost-plus-fixed-fee, performance-based contract.

The five-year award to CACI Federal, of Chantilly, Va., includes options that, if exercised, could bring the cumulative value of the contract to an estimated $219 million through 2015, according to a Defense Department announcement made Feb. 18.

The contract covers management, engineering and technical support services for various business IT support systems.

Virtually all of the work will be performed in Tidewater, Va., with the remainder to be completed at military shore and fleet centers outside the United States.

This contract was competitively procured via the Federal Business Opportunities Web site and the SPAWAR E-commerce Web site, with an unlimited number of proposals solicited and two offers received, DOD's announcement said.

The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Atlantic, Charleston, S.C., is the contracting activity.
