Former L.A. police chief tapped to kick off GovSec conference

Bill Bratton, who built the Los Angeles Police Department's state-of-the-art counter-terrorism capabilities in the wake of the terrorist attacks in 2001, will kick off the GovSec/U.S. Law conference coming up in March in Washington, D.C.

Bratton, who served as police chief in L.A., New York and Boston before becoming chief executive officer of Altegrity Security Consulting, created a regional fusion center as part of his efforts in L.A. He also created its real-time crime center, which uses the latest crime analysis, information-sharing and intelligence technologies.

Bratton will also headline the second annual Domestic Defense Symposium at the conference, which runs from March 23-24 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, concurrent with the FOSE trade show. For more information, go to www.govsecinfo.com.
