SRA seeks expansion through new executive assignments
SRA International Inc. has promoted three of its executives in an effort to bolster the federal contractor’s core business and expand into new markets, according to a company announcement today.

Pat Burke has been appointed senior vice president of offerings and products, Gordy McElroy has been named SVP of the National Security Sector and Jim McClave has been named vice president of SRA Europe, Middle East and Africa.
In addition to overseeing SRA’s horizontal offerings and products, Burke will manage research and development along with marketing and maintaining its proprietary products and repeatable solutions across the company’s core markets. He also will serve as senior advisor for cyber security.
Burke joined SRA in 1992 after service in the Air Force. He has extensive program management, acquisition and IT systems engineering experience.
McElroy, who joined SRA in 2008 and most recently was deputy director of the National Security Sector, will direct the national security-related work including the design, development and operation of mission-oriented systems and solutions for the intelligence community, the Defense and Homeland Security departments, law enforcement organizations and other federal agencies with security-related missions.
McElroy, who previously served in the Navy, brings more than 20 years’ experience managing all aspects of national security programs, ranging from radar systems to naval warfare systems to this role.
McClave, who was vice president of offerings and products, will now lead SRA’s efforts to identify future growth opportunities and expand its international footprint in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
He joined SRA in 2004, when the company acquired Orion Scientific Systems, where he served as executive vice president and chief operating officer.
The appointments are designed to further cultivate and enrich SRA’s partnerships with its client base of federal agencies and global health organizations, said SRA President and CEO Stan Sloane, in the statement. “We are committed to strengthening our core business while also taking advantage of opportunities to capture new business both domestically and globally.”
SRA International, of Fairfax, Va., ranks No. 26 on Washington Technology’s 2009 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
