D.C. small biz joins FBI's fight against gangs

Sim-G Technologies LLC will create a specialized information system for the FBI under a competitive task order that has an estimated value of $15 million over five years.

The award calls for the veteran-owned small business to design and develop the information system for the FBI’s National Gang Intelligence Center (NGIC). The Washington, D.C., contractor also will deploy, operate and maintain the NGIC.

The center, created in 2005, integrates the gang intelligence assets of the FBI and other federal, state and local law enforcement entities and serves as a centralized intelligence resource for gang information and analytical support, according to the FBI website.

The contract falls under the Alliant Small Business contract, a competitive multiple award, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity vehicle designed to provide worldwide information technology solutions to federal agencies.

Sim-G Technologies, a provider of system engineering and professional services, has offices in Charleston, S.C.; Huntsville, Ala.; Omaha, Neb.; and Arlington and Lorton, Va.
