A QinetiQ North America unit will supply information technology services to the National Defense University under a five-year, $28 million contract.

Under the contract, QinetiQ’s ITS Corp. unit will assist NDU’s Information Technology Directorate by providing services and support for IT infrastructure, architecture and technology migration, and information assurance, company officials said Oct. 6.

The contract, which was awarded through the General Services Administration’s Alliant program, will support NDU campuses at Fort McNair, Washington, D.C., and the Joint Forces Staff College, Norfolk, Va., the officials said.

The contract is the first order that QinetiQ has received through the Alliant governmentwide acquisition contract program, the officials said.

NDU provides instruction to military and civilian leaders on the topics of national and international security. It does this through education, research, exchange and outreach programs.

QinetiQ North American ranks No. 34 on Washington Technology’s 2009 Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
