Harris to support State Consular Affairs IT operations

Harris will be responsible for a wide variety of support duties that include installation, help desk and general IT services for upwards of 270 consular operations at home and abroad, company officials said today.
The work covers both routine administrative support and also mission critical requirements, the officials said. In the course of its work, Harris will install equipment and applications, handle configuration management and repair, perform technology upgrades, and administer help desk and training services, the officials said.
Consular operations comprise embassies, consulates and passport agencies that furnish services to U.S. citizens and process immigrant visa and non-immigrant visa applications.
The company’s partners on the contract include Stanley Associates Inc., Apptis Inc., ManTech International Corp., and nine other IT services companies.
Harris has worked for the Bureau of Consular Affairs for 12 years, company officials said.
Harris, of Melbourne, Fla., ranks No. 13 on Washington Technology’s Top 100 list of the largest federal government prime contractors.
